Scrappage Scheme Extended to March 31st 2010 with qualifying registration date moved forward to 29th February 2000 

We are now taking orders for the Government scrappage scheme. Here is a brief summary of the scheme details.

· In exchange for scrapping your old vehicle and buying a new one the Government and Perodua will contribute a total of £2,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle

· The scheme will be available until 31st March 2010, or until £400 million has been spent by the Government (approx. 300,000 eligible claimants), whichever comes first.

THE VEHICLE YOU SCRAP:

· Must be a car or commercial vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes

· Must have been first registered on or prior to 29th February 2000

· You must either be registered as the vehicle owner, or have a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) and the vehicle must have a current MOT certificate.

· You must have been the registered owner for 12 months prior to the order date of your new vehicle.

YOUR NEW VEHICLE:

The new car or vehicle you wish to buy must be:

· a car or small van weighing up to 3,500 kg

· first registered in the UK on or after mid May 2009

· declared new at first registration in the UK with no former keepers
